About NLG
Nancy Le Giang, a self-taught artist began learning how to draw since the age of 6. Ever since then, she has been able to creatively think of ideas and express her thoughts and emotions through her drawings and oil paintings. She grew up in North Bay and currently resides in Toronto so her artistic styles are diverse and her colour palette is unique yet identifiable as her own. She has been pursuing visual arts on her own throughout the years and has exclusively painted with oils since 1996.

Nancy has created commissioned paintings for a number of people. She draws inspiration from everyday life, including people, music, landscapes and captivating scenery. She maintains the emotional elements in her preliminary sketches, and then transforms the sketches onto canvas. Artist's Statement
Being a painter has been a wonderful journey. Throughout my earlier years, I visited art museums and marveled at the works of great masters, impressionist and surrealist painters. With their unique characteristics in mind, I have a tendency to combine those styles and techniques in my paintings to create my own uniqueness. My work derived from contemplation of nature and human beings. The colours of autumn, a snowy mountain peak, or an intimate or flinging moment - all touched me deep within and provided me with inspiration. In recent years, I got carried away with my passion of discovery. I have taken my life influences and expressed them abstractly. I took my oil palette and paintbrushes to drop, smear and even spattered my ideas on canvas to create intense texture and fluid paintings that will tug at the viewer's senses.
